Assessment

Sumsub can serve as the only vendor for most steps in a buyer's compliance work. Individuals can be verified with 14,000+ document types across 220+ countries and territories or without documents, businesses receive registry, ownership, and corporate AML checks, and screening draws on 50,000+ sources with ComplyAdvantage matching included. Transaction monitoring supplies pre-built rules, dry-run tests, and goAML-format FIU reports, and a drag-and-drop builder that can prepare flows from an uploaded policy feeds case queues that use four-eye approvals.

Individual check prices are public: Basic is priced at $1.35 per verification and carries a $149 monthly minimum, and Compliance, which includes AML checks and address checks, is priced at $1.85 with a $299 minimum. Quotes cover KYB, transaction monitoring, and the broader fraud tools. Standard terms last 12 months and continue automatically, though either party may leave after giving 30 days' written notice. Sumsub disclosed in February 2026 that a support environment was reached by an attacker in July 2024. Names accounted for most of the exposure, and the access remained unnoticed until January 2026.

Regulatory fit90

Sanctions screening (including OFAC, UN, HMT, EU, and DFAT lists), checks for PEP status and adverse media, ongoing monitoring and transaction monitoring, and SAR and STR reporting, along with a June 2026 recertification under eIDAS 2.0 at the High level, SOC 2 Type 2, and ISO/IEC 27001.

How this rating was made

This profile gives our own assessment of Sumsub to companies selecting a KYC, AML & identity provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Sumsub gave us no payment for the profile.

The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.

Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: pricing and legal pages, product documentation, compliance disclosures, and filings. This profile had no lab tests, and no accounts were opened. Fact-checking took place on September 24, 2026.
