Assessment

Compliance officers, money laundering reporting officers, and fraud analysts at fintechs, payment processors, neobanks, remittance firms, crypto businesses, and small banks use Flagright to watch transactions, review alerts, and document case decisions. The best uses are real-time transaction monitoring with rules the compliance team writes itself, customer risk scoring, sanctions and watchlist screening, and filing suspicious activity reports.

Flagright publishes no price list, and its pricing page redirects to a contact form. Its own blog says usage-based pricing starts at $5,000 to $15,000 a year, and the same article puts NICE Actimize at $500,000 to $2 million or more a year. A quote from Flagright sets the actual price.

The main competitors are ComplyAdvantage (80), Hawk (76), Napier AI (75), Salv (73), Unit21, and Sardine. TechCrunch listed Unit21 and Sardine as Flagright's rivals in 2022. A chief compliance officer in banking wrote on Capterra in October 2026 that the company switched to Flagright after using Sardine for the past few years.

Flagright is a Y Combinator Winter 2022 company in San Francisco, California. Baran Ozkan, who ran the product team at a fintech startup in Lithuania and searched for months for a real-time monitoring vendor, started it with Madhu G. Nadig. In June 2026 it announced a $12.5 million Series A led by Infinity Ventures, with Sella and the existing investors Frontline and Y Combinator also taking part. The company says the money goes to explainable AI features and a larger US presence.

Flagright now describes itself as an AI operating system for financial crime compliance. Its modules include transaction monitoring, dynamic risk scoring, case management, a no-code rule engine with simulation and shadow rules, watchlist screening, suspicious activity report filing with FinCEN and in more than 70 GoAML countries, and AI agents. Its pages do not list ID document or face checks, so it works beside an identity provider. Flagright says more than 100 institutions in 30-plus countries use it, and claims up to 93% fewer false positives and up to 80% lower compliance costs.

Built for

A fintech, payments firm, crypto business, or small bank whose compliance team wants to write its own monitoring rules without engineers and run alerts, cases, and filings from one vendor.

Less suited to

A company that also needs ID document and face checks, which Flagright's pages do not list, or a large bank that wants a long record at its own scale, which Flagright's public reviews do not yet show.

Rating by criterion

Eight criteria, four about what buyers in this sector need and four about the company and its commercial terms, each scored out of 100, show where Flagright is strong and where it is thinner.

Sector criteria

Verification coverage60

Flagright screens customers and counterparties against sanctions and other watchlists with configurable matching, and Capterra's feature list includes politically exposed person screening. A vendor-referred Capterra reviewer who was offered an incentive says the AI co-pilot saves agents significant time on name screening. The home page lists no ID document, face, or business registry checks.

Fraud and risk signals80

The platform monitors transactions in real time or after the fact, reassesses customer risk as behavior changes, and uses network analysis to find linked accounts. Rule simulation and shadow rules let teams test changes without affecting live alerts. TechCrunch reported in 2022 that Flagright trains its models on each customer's own data and does not share one customer's data with another. A vendor-referred Capterra reviewer who was offered an incentive says they have little use yet for the linkage analysis features.

Case management and workflow84

Case management, a workflow builder, quality assurance reviews, and an AI co-pilot that turns case data into investigation insights are on the home page. A Capterra reviewer calls the AI narrative tool for case management very useful, another says it saves time when writing narratives, and Capterra's audit trail score is 5.0 from nine reviewers.

Regulatory fit78

Flagright files suspicious activity reports with FinCEN and in more than 70 GoAML countries. Chartis listed it as a Category Leader in AML Transaction Monitoring Solutions 2026, according to Flagright's blog, and it has been on the RegTech100 list for three years. Flagright's public pages make no SOC 2 or ISO claim.

Vendor criteria

Product depth and roadmap84

The module list runs from transaction monitoring and risk scoring to case management, rule building in natural language, and ontology-based network analysis. In 2022 TechCrunch counted nine employees, eight startup customers, and $3.2 million raised. By June 2026 Flagright reported more than 100 institutions and a $12.5 million Series A.

Onboarding and support84

Flagright says deployment can take as little as two weeks, and its Capterra profile, written by Flagright, says API integration typically takes about a week. Capterra's customer service score is 5.0 from 18 reviews, and reviewers repeatedly praise support as the strongest point. The recurring caution is the learning curve for rules: three reviewers say rules or general use take guidance or a technical background to learn.

Pricing transparency50

There is no public price list. Flagright's blog gives a starting range of $5,000 to $15,000 a year for usage-based pricing. Capterra's value-for-money score is 4.8 from 18 reviews, and one reviewer describes the prices as affordable.

Contract terms55

Flagright's public pages state no minimum term, trial, or termination terms. TechCrunch described its pricing as usage-based in 2022, and Flagright's blog repeats that model. Capterra reviewers describe continued contact from the team after implementation.

How this review was created

This profile gives our own assessment of Flagright to companies selecting a KYC, AML & identity provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Flagright gave us no payment for the profile.

The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.

Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: Flagright’s own pages, a company press release, news coverage, a Y Combinator company page, and Capterra customer reviews. Fact-checking took place on October 27, 2026.
