Assessment

Veriff focuses on proving the person and the document are real. Support covers 12,500+ ID documents across 230+ countries and territories, using 50 languages and dialects, and it says models for documents, faces and liveness are built in-house. Plus and Premium include CrossLinks, FaceBlock and session video, and trained specialists handle the cases automation cannot decide. In April 2026 the fully automated product received FIDO Alliance Document Authenticity certification after testing 19 document types drawn from 12 countries.

Compliance work receives less support. Screening for PEP and sanctions costs $0.64 per verification, Veriff flags only potential matches, and review of hits is possible through the API alone. KYB was strengthened by the February 2026 Vespia purchase, and a transaction monitoring product is not listed. Self-serve plans carry no long-term contract, but session data is kept for either three or six months unless clients buy two-year retention. A breach notice from Total Wireless to the California Attorney General says an unauthorized party took ID images for some of its customers out of systems at Veriff in November 2025.

How this rating was made

This profile gives our own assessment of Veriff to companies selecting a KYC, AML & identity provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Veriff gave us no payment for the profile.

The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.

Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: pricing and legal pages, product documentation, compliance disclosures, and filings. This profile had no lab tests, and no accounts were opened. Fact-checking took place on September 24, 2026.
