Oscilar

Oscilar is a risk decisioning software company, founded in 2021 and based in Palo Alto, California, whose platform lets banks, lenders, and fintechs decide in real time whether to approve a new customer, a loan, or a payment, with AI agents that help analysts review fraud and anti-money laundering alerts.

Assessment

Risk and fraud teams at lenders, banks, credit unions, payment companies, and fintechs use Oscilar to make real-time decisions at account opening, at credit approval, and on each transaction. Its best uses are running fraud and credit decisions in one rules-and-models layer, adding machine learning scores to policy rules, and giving analysts AI agents for alert review and case writing. Oscilar lists SoFi, MoneyGram, Uphold, Nuvei, and Clara among its customers.

Oscilar publishes no prices. Its pricing page redirects to a demo request, and FinTechSpecs describes contracts as annual and negotiated on decision volume, the number of decision flows, and the number of data integrations. Taktile, a close rival in credit decisioning, also publishes no prices, according to the same site, so price comparisons start with a quote from each vendor.

The main competitors for decisioning and financial crime work are Alloy (77), Provenir (76), Hawk (76), Taktile, and Sardine. FinTechSpecs says Taktile suits risk teams that want to write and audit underwriting policy without engineers, and Oscilar fits teams that want machine learning signals inside the credit decision. It calls Alloy orchestration-first, Provenir rules-engine-first with longer deployments, and Sardine a provider of fraud signals.

Oscilar is based in Palo Alto, California. Neha Narkhede, who co-created Apache Kafka at LinkedIn and co-founded Confluent, is chief executive, and Sachin Kulkarni, who spent 11 years at Meta, is chief technology officer. The company came out of stealth in March 2023. TechCrunch reported at launch that it was self-funded, with $20 million contributed by the two founders, and Oscilar said in June 2026 that it has taken no outside investment.

In June 2026 Oscilar launched Agent Hub, a set of more than 30 AI agents for fraud, anti-money laundering, credit, and onboarding work, and it says more than 100 financial institutions use the platform. It claims 45% fewer false positives, policies deployed 5 times faster, and alerts reviewed 3 times faster.

Built for

A lender, bank, or fintech with risk engineers or data scientists that wants fraud and credit decisions in one platform, with its own models and machine learning scores in the decision flow.

Less suited to

A small team without data science staff, or a buyer that wants published prices. FinTechSpecs says the machine learning nodes take more technical skill to set up than Taktile's rule builder, and Oscilar lists no price.

Rating by criterion

Eight criteria, four about what buyers in this sector need and four about the company and its commercial terms, each scored out of 100, show where Oscilar is strong and where it is thinner.

Sector criteria

Verification coverage72

Oscilar's onboarding product covers consumers, businesses, and merchants, with AI agents for KYC review, KYB review, and document extraction and translation. Its marketplace page lists more than 150 data partners, so the identity and bureau sources a customer gets depend on which partners it connects. The public pages do not list document types or countries covered.

Fraud and risk signals82

Oscilar's home page lists device, network, and behavior signals: IP, proxy, Tor, and VPN detection, bot detection, and keyboard, mouse, and touch patterns. It lists identity precision at 99.99% accuracy and more than 1,000 cognitive detection markers. Agents cover fraud network detection and first-level fraud review. FinTechSpecs says Oscilar treats fraud and credit as one risk surface, so teams running both share context and case management.

Case management and workflow82

Agents write workflows and test cases, draft suspicious activity report narratives in the institution's format, and review first-line AML alerts, the routine reviews that Oscilar says make up 95% of alerts. Analysts can backtest changes on historical data before release. A customer's director of credit says on Oscilar's customer page that the interface and built-in generative AI helped with quick updates to flows and back testing. FinTechSpecs adds that setting up machine learning nodes takes more technical skill than a rule tree, and that Oscilar's version history is less central to its pitch than Taktile's.

Regulatory fit78

The security page lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and GDPR compliance, with reports available on request. It adds annual third-party penetration testing, AES-256 encryption at rest, single sign-on through SAML or OIDC, SCIM user sync, and role-based access. Agents cover sanctions, politically exposed person, and adverse media screening.

Vendor criteria

Product depth and roadmap84

Oscilar spans onboarding, fraud, credit, and AML in one platform and says it handles more than 30 billion decisions a year, more than 120,000 requests a second, and responses under 100 milliseconds. Customers can bring their own models, and Oscilar says models retrain in days. Agent Hub, launched June 3, 2026, has more than 30 agents, and an Oscilar MCP server lets an outside AI assistant build and test workflows.

Onboarding and support80

FinTechSpecs puts typical production time at four to eight weeks for platforms of this kind when the lender's own systems are clean. One Oscilar customer says on its customer page that the team took them from contract to production in 32 days after they needed to replace a platform being retired, and a vice president of fraud prevention at another customer praises the team's responsiveness. Oscilar's June 2026 announcement says SoFi cut the time to deploy new credit strategies from weeks to days.

Pricing transparency35

There is no public price. The pricing page redirects to a demo request. FinTechSpecs says contract value depends on decision volume, the number of decision flows, and data integrations, and that using several data sources adds to the cost.

Contract terms52

FinTechSpecs describes annual contracts with volume-based terms negotiated directly. Oscilar's public pages do not state a minimum term, a trial, or termination terms. The company's SOC 2, ISO, and PCI reports are available on request.

User comments

We read the customer quotes Oscilar publishes on its own site to see what buyers value, and set them against the main limit a buyer meets.

  • Upside

“I think of Oscilar as a blank canvas: the workflows and integrations are your brushes and paint. You can tailor it to whatever you need, while still keeping everything in one place.”

  • Upside

“Oscilar allows our team to rapidly automate credit decisions at scale, seamlessly tapping into multiple data sources with the ability to deploy instant changes to our algorithm.”

  • Downside

“Changing underwriting policy takes more engineering help than in a no-code rule builder, and I could not get a price without booking a demo.”

How this review was created

This profile gives our own assessment of Oscilar to companies selecting a KYC, AML & identity provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Oscilar gave us no payment for the profile.

The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.

Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: Oscilar’s own pages, a company press release, news coverage, two comparison articles, and a software directory listing. Fact-checking took place on October 27, 2026.
