Assessment
Financing from Parafin is live on platforms that include Amazon, DoorDash, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and Gusto, which display pre-approved offers in the products they already run while underwriting and servicing stay with Parafin. Who lends depends on the product: Parafin, Inc. purchases part of future receivables on its merchant cash advances, Celtic Bank issues the loans and lines of credit, and Column N.A. is creditor on the Spend Card, which Parafin services. Platforms receive part of the fees and, Parafin says, bear no risk.
Offer size is drawn from sales history and forecast cash flow, and credit bureau scores are left out. Parafin says a transformer model now sets that size for over a million merchants. By its data, more than 50,000 businesses had been funded, and offers totaled over $35 billion, as of June 2026. A credit facility announced on June 17, 2026 is led by Goldman Sachs together with One William Street. Public detail is limited: an access code is required for the API documentation, and we found no published security certification.
Scenarios
| Scenario | Suitability | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Working capital for sellers operating on a marketplace or software platform | Well suited | Offers are pre-approved and white-labeled, and sized from the sales history of each business. |
| Credit that lets a customer pay over time, at checkout or on invoices | Well suited | Pay Over Time is added as a way to pay, and Celtic Bank issues the lines of credit. |
| A business credit card offered to a platform's customers | Well suited | Column N.A. issues the Spend Card and Parafin services it; an unpaid statement balance moves into a pay-over-time balance, and a fee applies. |
| Origination software a bank would use for its own loans | Not suited | Parafin sells platforms a managed lending program and has no software for loans a lender makes on its own. |
Built for
Platforms and payment processors that serve small businesses in the United States or Canada and want a branded financing program, without running underwriting or funding on their own.
Less suited to
Banks and credit unions looking for origination or decisioning software, and platforms that want to define their own credit rules and pricing.
Who should consider it

Rating by criterion
How the eight criteria that form the rating for Parafin are each scored out of 100.
Sector criteria
Pre-approved offers can go live with no code, using an embeddable component or APIs and webhooks. Parafin says an approved business can be funded in as little as one business day.
Parafin's own models decide eligibility and terms from sales and forecast cash flow, and credit bureau scores are not used. Platforms do not get to set the credit rules.
Platforms connect through Parafin's APIs and webhooks, or share Stripe or Plaid data without code. Bureau scores are not used, and an access code is required for the API documentation.
KYC and regulatory compliance are handled by Parafin. Its loan and card agreements name the creditor bank and charge fees, with no interest. No security certification is published, and no fair lending tooling is published.
Vendor criteria
The lineup covers merchant cash advances, term and flex loans, Pay Over Time credit, and a Spend Card with a Cash Account. Parafin reports over 50,000 businesses funded as of June 2026.
Parafin handles servicing and support for each program, and platforms receive a partner dashboard with guidance and templates, along with a public status page.
Platforms have no published price list. Under the model that is public, platforms receive a share of the fees. Capital is priced to the business as one fixed fee, and the Spend Card statement fee is capped at 16%.
Platform contracts are unpublished, including any minimums or exit rules. Agreements that businesses sign are public, and Parafin says the platform carries no risk.

How this rating was made
This profile gives our own assessment of Parafin to companies selecting a Lending & credit infrastructure provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Parafin gave us no payment for the profile.
The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.
Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: pricing and legal pages, product documentation, compliance disclosures, and filings. This profile had no lab tests, and no accounts were opened. Fact-checking took place on September 24, 2026.
