Assessment

ScotPac is used by small and mid-size businesses in Australia and New Zealand that sell on credit to other businesses, such as wholesalers, manufacturers, recruiters, and transport firms, and need cash before their customers pay. It suits invoice finance, trade finance for imports, and equipment funding from one lender. ScotPac does not publish rates, and its main competitors are Earlypay, Butn, and the business lending arms of the big banks.

ScotPac started as Scottish Pacific in 1988, joined the ASX in 2016, and was bought by Affinity Equity Partners in 2018. It supports about 10,000 customers and finances about $18B of invoice turnover a year. Clare Morgan, previously at ANZ, became chief executive in September 2026.

It fits an established business with a sizable ledger of invoices that wants a larger facility and a relationship manager. It is a weaker fit for a business that wants to fund single invoices on demand inside its accounting software, which is what Butn is built for.

How this review was created

This profile gives our own assessment of ScotPac to companies selecting a Lending & credit infrastructure provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and ScotPac gave us no payment for the profile.
