Assessment
Pliant gives a company physical and virtual Visa credit cards with set limits, receipts captured in the app and data sent to the accounting system. Use it when card spend is high and spread across many employees or suppliers. Pliant says it is not a fit below ~$12,000 of monthly card spend, or for freelancers and sole traders.
Pliant was founded in Berlin, Germany, in 2020, serves 3,500 businesses across Europe and had revenue of ~$24M in 2024. Illuminate Financial and Speedinvest led its ~$40M Series B in April 2025, and it has started selling in the US with Coastal Community Bank as issuing bank.
It fits a mid-size European company, a travel firm or a fleet business with heavy card use. It is a weaker fit for a micro-business or any company that spends little on cards.
Rating by criterion
Each of the eight criteria below is scored out of 100.
Sector criteria
Pliant's cards are credit cards that do not depend on the company's bank account, and its product menu now includes business accounts, FX and transfers. A company that runs payroll from a main bank should treat Pliant as the card and spend layer first.
The Standard plan includes unlimited virtual and single-use cards, volume-based cashback and an insurance package, with Visa Platinum Business or metal Visa Infinite Business cards for staff. Limits can be set card by card.
Receipts, real-time reporting and card limits sit in the app, and the data flows into accounting and travel-expense tools. Check how receipts are matched before moving the finance team over.
Standard includes unlimited integrations, and Custom adds custom integrations and the Pro API. A platform can also launch its own card program through Pliant's cards-as-a-service product.
Vendor criteria
Revenue grew ~140% in 2024, and Pliant has added a US launch, a Commerzbank partnership and the hi.health acquisition. That pace is fast for a company founded in 2020.
Every plan starts with a demo, and Custom adds dedicated onboarding and a customer success manager. Light customers get live chat, and Standard adds email and phone support.
The plans and their features are published, but the prices are not. A buyer has to book a demo to get a number.
Contract length and exit fees are not published. Ask about minimum spend commitments, since Pliant targets companies with high card volume.

How this review was created
This profile gives our own assessment of Pliant to companies selecting a Business banking & treasury provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Pliant gave us no payment for the profile.
The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.
Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: pricing and legal pages, product documentation, compliance disclosures, and filings. Fact-checking took place on October 21, 2026.
