Assessment

Juni combines multi-currency business accounts and cards with invoice credit, card credit lines, cashback on eligible spend, and AI-assisted accounting workflows (the homepage highlights its integration with Fortnox, a Swedish accounting software). It suits a company that pays for ads and suppliers every day in SEK, EUR, GBP, USD, or NOK and wants its finance team to use fewer tools.

Swedish company-data sites show 2025 net turnover (omsättning) of about SEK 113.4 million and total revenue of about SEK 127 million (~US$11-12 million). Juni Technology AB holds Electronic Money Institution licence no. 64025 from Finansinspektionen, Sweden's financial regulator. As an e-money institution, Juni safeguards customer money with partner banks under e-money rules.

Juni fits ecommerce and performance-marketing companies in the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA) that want cards, multi-currency IBANs, and working-capital credit designed for online spending. It is a weaker fit for sole traders, whom Juni does not accept, for retailers that handle a lot of cash, or for firms that need a licensed bank covered by a deposit-guarantee scheme.

Rating by criterion

Each of the eight criteria below is scored out of 100.

Sector criteria

Accounts and money movement84

Juni offers multi-currency IBANs and payment networks such as Bankgiro (Sweden's domestic giro system), SEPA, and SWIFT, and its published plan comparison lists same-currency SEPA transfers as free. FX fees depend on the plan. Juni advertises account opening in as little as 24 hours for eligible limited companies.

Spend and cards86

The core offer is virtual and physical cards in several currencies, cards assigned to team members, tagging by project or subscription, and high daily spending limits. The plans page lists cashback on debit spending of 0% on Free and 0.5% on Plus. Subject to approval, a company can attach credit to cards used for ad platforms, and Juni advertises interest-free periods of up to 60 days on card credit.

Bookkeeping and admin tools82

Juni promotes AI that pulls details from invoices, receipt matching against long lists of merchants, approval flows, and Fortnox automation that the company says can cut manual accounting work sharply. It is aimed at finance teams handling large numbers of ad receipts. The tools go deepest for companies on Fortnox or similar Nordic accounting software, and Juni says less about connections to other accounting systems.

Integrations and open banking78

Juni connects to marketing and ad platforms as well as accounting software, and press coverage has described Google Ads analytics features in the past. Open-banking data helps categorise spending.

Vendor criteria

Product depth and roadmap80

Juni's products cover accounts, cards, invoice credit (up to SEK 10 million on the published comparison for standard plans), AI accounting, and three plans (Free, Plus, Custom). Gaining its e-money licence in 2022 was a major regulatory step. The open questions for its roadmap are which countries get credit and which accounting systems beyond Fortnox it connects to.

Onboarding and support76

Juni accepts limited companies in supported UK and EEA markets, with applicants aged 18 or over. Support comes through help-centre articles and chat, and third-party reviews often mention the live chat. Credit products need separate approval, and onboarding includes company registry and identity checks.

Pricing transparency74

Juni publishes Free, Plus, and Custom on https://www.juni.co/price-plans with add-on fees for extra IBANs, cards, international transfers, and FX percentages visible in the comparison grid. The Plus monthly subscription is shown on that plans page, and secondary summaries cite about €79 a month with an annual discount. Custom is quoted by sales.

Contract terms72

According to the help centre, subscriptions are billed monthly from the main account, in EUR in much of the EEA and SEK in Sweden. Extra users, cards, or IBANs are charged pro rata. Credit comes under separate contracts, with repayment periods of up to 120 days on invoice credit depending on approval.

Key leadership

Samir El-Sabini and Anders Orsedal co-founded Juni and lead it as chief executive and chief technology officer.

El-Sabini is known for building Juni as one place for ecommerce businesses to manage money, after seeing how scattered their banking and ad-spending tools were. Before Juni he held strategy and product leadership roles at Findity, a Swedish expense and finance software company, and worked in venture capital and startups, including as a venture partner, and on earlier ecommerce projects. Press profiles also mention earlier corporate-finance and legal work related to online retail.

Orsedal leads engineering on Juni’s banking and automation software. In company materials and interviews he works alongside El-Sabini on product design and on keeping the multi-currency accounts and cards running reliably.
