Assessment
smallcase builds ready-made baskets of stocks and ETFs, called smallcases, that an investor buys through a linked broker account. The investor keeps the shares in their own demat account at that broker. Use it when you want a theme or model portfolio without picking every stock yourself, and you already trade with a supported Indian broker.
Entrackr reported that revenue from operations reached Rs 106 crore in FY25 (year ended 31 Mar 2025), up from Rs 67.4 crore in FY24, citing company documents. That is about US$12-13 million. The company, now registered as CASE Platforms Private Limited, remains private after a Series D that closed in March 2025.
smallcase fits an Indian retail investor who wants thematic or manager-built portfolios next to ordinary stock trading. It is a weaker fit for someone outside India, for a buyer who needs a full-service adviser, or for a firm that wants custody and clearing under one fintech brand rather than through a broker partner.
Rating by criterion
Each of the eight criteria below is scored out of 100.
Sector criteria
An investor can buy equity and ETF smallcases, including free and subscription-managed baskets, through a linked demat and trading account. Holdings sit with the broker, not in a smallcase custody account. Coverage is Indian listed markets. That matters if the investor already keeps stocks at Zerodha, Dhan, or another partner and wants model portfolios in the same place.
The app and web product show basket performance, SIP schedules, and rebalance prompts. Managers can publish fee-based smallcases. There is no separate adviser desktop for an RIA-style firm outside India. The tools are built for self-directed retail investors and for portfolio managers who distribute on the platform.
smallcase connects to a wide set of Indian brokers so the investor does not open a new brokerage just to use the product. Order routing and fees follow the linked broker. That is the main integration story. International brokers are outside the product.
Custody and clearing stay with the partner broker and India's market infrastructure. smallcase does not publish itself as a custodian or broker-dealer. Investor protection follows the broker's SEBI registration and exchange rules. A buyer who wants one firm for both software and custody will not find that here.
Vendor criteria
The core offer is thematic and manager smallcases, SIPs, and rebalancing, plus a broker-partner distribution model. Public materials also describe CASE Platforms as a wider investing-infrastructure push. Depth is strong for Indian retail themes; it is thinner for advice, tax lots, or multi-country accounts.
An investor signs up, links a supported broker, and can invest after broker KYC is complete. Help articles and in-product guides cover fees and SIPs. Support quality varies with the broker relationship as much as with smallcase itself.
smallcase publishes platform fees on its fees page: Rs 100 plus GST per lump-sum buy or invest-more order, and Rs 10 plus GST per SIP run, each capped at 1.5% of the order value. Rebalance and exit have no platform fee. Manager subscription fees apply only on fee-based smallcases. Broker statutory charges sit on top.
Platform fees are transactional. Manager subscriptions bill on the manager's cycle. Exit from a smallcase follows ordinary sell orders at the broker. There is no long platform lock-in published for the retail investor, though manager subscriptions have their own terms.

How this review was created
This profile gives our own assessment of smallcase to companies selecting a Wealth & brokerage platforms provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and smallcase gave us no payment for the profile.
