Anugrah Shrivastava

Co-founder

Anugrah Shrivastava is a co-founder of smallcase. He studied at IIT Kharagpur with Vasanth Kamath, worked on thematic products for institutional investors at Nomura, and helped launch the retail thematic-portfolio platform in 2016.

From Nomura to smallcase

At Nomura he built theme-based products for institutional clients, experience that mapped directly onto smallcase's idea of ready-made stock and ETF baskets for individuals. When Kamath left Tracxn and called him in 2015, Shrivastava joined as a co-founder and the pair recruited Rohan Gupta from Goldman Sachs India. Forbes India profiled the three as 30 Under 30 founders in 2019.

Product and investing ideas

His early institutional thematic work shaped how smallcase presented portfolios around ideas such as GST, affordable housing, and digital India. The co-founding team has kept the focus on diversification tools that sit inside broker platforms rather than asking retail investors to assemble every position by hand.
