Noel King is chief technology officer at Napier AI. He joined in June 2025 to lead the company's AI-enabled client screening, transaction monitoring, and transaction screening products, and to build a Belfast research and development hub. He is known in Irish tech circles as Irish Technology Person of the Year in 2018 and as founder of Coolest Projects, a programme for young people in technology.
Earlier technology roles
Before Napier he was CTO at Implement Technologies and at Shipyard Technology Ventures. Earlier work included cloud-native platforms for Mastercard and Goldman Sachs, and a nationwide education system in Norway. Dublin City University gave him its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015. His published focus areas span technology strategy, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and engineering organisation design.
Technology at Napier
In the CTO role he owns the product engineering agenda for Napier's financial-crime suite and the new Belfast centre of excellence, which Napier has described as working with Belfast City Council on training and youth programming pathways. He has framed the job as building AI-powered tools that stay available when banks need them most and that reduce the manual load on compliance teams.
