Tommy Nicholas co-founded Alloy in 2015 and is chief executive. Alloy builds identity-decisioning software used by banks and fintechs for fraud, credit, AML, and onboarding decisions.
Founding Alloy
In a Future Nexus interview he said digital financial products lacked an installable system that would orchestrate risk checks and return an automated decision the way payments firms sell processing. "There wasn’t a system that was, you would expect to just buy, install, and then configure to actually make the underlying decisions," he said.
Co-founders
He started the company with Charles Lederer, who became CTO and had gone to high school with him. Laura Spiekerman later joined as co-founder after hearing him pitch a fintech idea and is now president.
Funding and age
Alloy was founded in 2015. In the Fintech Leaders conversation he discussed roughly four difficult early years before sales improved and the customer base grew.
