Jeppe Rindom is co-founder and chief executive of Pleo, a Copenhagen, Denmark, company that gives employees company cards and handles their expenses and receipts. He started Pleo in 2015 with Niccolò Perra. “I’ve had a bit of a lifelong battle with receipts ever since I was young,” he told TechRound in 2021. Read our review of Pleo.

Finance Chief at Tradeshift

He worked in investment banking at Carnegie and FIH Partners, in corporate development at Chr. Hansen, and as a consultant at McKinsey. He then joined Tradeshift, the business invoicing and payments network, where he served as chief financial officer.

Shoeboxes of Faded Receipts

The idea for Pleo came from his own work as a finance chief. “My father used to run an accountancy business and he would pay me to spend hours matching up shoeboxes of faded receipts with company bank statements,” he said in the same interview. At a fintech start-up he and Perra handed out company cards to the whole office, but the company could not track the spending effectively, and senior staff spent hours gathering and processing receipts.
