Assessment

Checkout.com combines gateway, acquirer and processor, so merchants can integrate once and add payouts, issuing, fraud tools, local acquiring and identity checks as they grow. The company lists 150+ currencies for processing along with 57 domestic processing countries, and from September 9, 2026 it began to acquire US card payments directly on its Georgia bank charter. Its SDKs cover mobile and seven back-end languages, and a self-serve test account is available.

The commercial side discloses less. A price list is absent, with only a choice between interchange++ fees and flat-rate pricing based on business profile, while service status appears in the dashboard, with no public page for it. During November 2025, the company reported an incident tied to a legacy third-party system used for file storage, and it said card numbers, merchant funds and payment processing were not affected and it refused the ransom demand.

How this rating was made

This profile gives our own assessment of Checkout.com to companies selecting a Payments & acquiring provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Checkout.com gave us no payment for the profile.

The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.

Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: pricing and legal pages, product documentation, compliance disclosures, and filings. This profile had no lab tests, and no accounts were opened. Fact-checking took place on September 23, 2026.
