Assessment
Cross-border money movement is what Airwallex is built for. Global Accounts let firms collect and hold funds across 20+ currencies, local transfers cover 120+ countries, and open FX pricing is 0.5% over the interbank rate on major currencies and 1.0% on others. That account also covers cards in many currencies, expenses, bill pay and taking payments online.
Certain areas trail the domestic specialists. The cards are debit cards drawn on the balance, and a credit line remains listed as coming soon. FDIC cover caps at $250,000 for each customer account at each partner bank rather than a large network of sweeps, and US phone lines run on weekdays from 07:00 to 17:00 PT. On the cards page, 2% cashback is advertised, yet the linked promotion terms offer up to 1.5% to new US customers who spend at least $2,000 on the card in a month.

| Sizable US cash balances | Partly suited | On the top plan, yield reaches 3.60%, though FDIC cover caps at $250,000 for each account per bank. |

How this rating was made
This profile gives our own assessment of Airwallex to companies selecting a Business banking & treasury provider. The Fintech Index receives nothing for featuring a firm, for sponsorship, or for advertising, and Airwallex gave us no payment for the profile.
The rating equals the average of eight criteria, with every criterion running from 0 to 100. Four address buyer needs in this sector, and four address the company together with its commercial terms.
Ratings are our editorial judgment, made from public information: pricing and legal pages, product documentation, compliance disclosures, and filings. This profile had no lab tests, and no accounts were opened. Fact-checking took place on September 23, 2026.
