Weiwei (Alex) Gao is chief financial officer of Raiz Invest. Raiz's ASX announcement appointed him CFO effective 1 July 2021, and the company's about page still lists Alex Gao as chief financial officer alongside CEO Craig Keary.
Appointment and background
The July 2021 announcement said he had more than 15 years in accounting, finance, and operations, is a member of CPA Australia, and holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Sydney majoring in accounting and finance. He joined Instreet Investment in 2012 as finance and operations manager and worked with then Managing Director George Lucas as Raiz grew from the Acorns-branded launch in 2016.
CFO remit
As CFO he oversees financial planning and board reporting, management accounting, and other accounting functions, and has oversight of pre- and post-compliance for trading functions, according to that appointment announcement.
