Martins Valters is co-founder and chief operating officer of Mintos. Mintos's 2025 consolidated annual report, signed in July 2026, lists him as a member of the management board with Martins Sulte.
Early career
He studied at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga from 2001 to 2004 and briefly interned at Swedbank. From 2003 to 2015 he worked at Ernst & Young, finishing as a senior manager in accounting, assurance, and IFRS.
From CFO to COO
He co-founded Mintos with Martins Sulte and served as CFO from the January 2015 launch. In April 2017 he became chief operating officer. Crowdfund Insider quoted him in January 2022 on the roughly 1,500 regulation-related tasks completed on the path to investment-firm and electronic-money licences, and on EUR 1.7 billion invested in loans on Mintos in 2021.
"We're proud that this Mintos initiative has set a new standard for loan-based investment platforms as having EU-defined licenses provides investors with a safer investment environment," he said of the licensing work.
