At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on September 8, 2025, he said, “What I’ve really been focused on in the last six months is really execution and just making sure that we narrow down our priorities and then we deliver on those priorities and we deliver them well,” describing his priorities as chief executive. From Visa and PayPal to Marqeta’s Finance Chief
He spent about ten years at Visa, finishing as senior vice president of corporate finance and investor relations. Earlier he worked at PayPal and American Express.
He joined Marqeta as chief financial officer in 2022.
Leading Marqeta as Chief Executive
Marqeta’s board made him permanent chief executive in September 2025, after he had run the company on an interim basis since February. He kept the finance role until Patti Kangwankij took it over in February 2026.
